Prestige Flip

Season Flip

The first thing that should be noted is that after our win in the national tournament ASU has jumped in prestige from a B- to a B.  This is very important because Hoops Dynasty uses prestige a great deal in recruiting.  It will now be incrementally easier to recruit than it was a B-, and if we’re able to make our way to a B+ or A- it would be greatly enhanced even more.  That being said, the local Pac10 teams are still A+ so we’ll still not be making too big of a dent in their recruiting plans. Still just a minor blip on their radar, however another thing prestige comes into play with is job openings. I know I had listed on a previous post possible school’s that I COULD have some interest in bolting too. I figured we could sort of look at the options right now and then really dive into the options once the job applications open up and I can see what jobs I actually qualify for.

As it stands right now, IF I decided to leave, this would probably be my priority list (assuming I would be accepted at all the schools):

  1. Baylor (1 scholarship to fill)
  2. Michigan (4 Scholarships to fill)
  3. Oklahoma St (4 scholarships to fill)
  4. Iowa (5 scholarships to fill)
  5. Purdue (1 scholarship to fill)
  6. Miami (0 scholarships to fill)

The only job on this list that I don’t think I’ll be qualified for is the Oklahoma St job (I could be mistaken about the others, but only time will tell).  Of course this is all just conjecture since I may go through all this research and analysis just to come to the conclusion that I want to stay put at ASU and just ride out these past few top 35 recruiting classes and see if I can create a wave big enough to turn those perennial Postseason Invites into National Tournament invites and get ASU on the same level as Arizona, USC, UCLA, etc.
