Player Profile Series
SF Earl Douglas (FR)
*Was redshirted this past season*
Earl was recruited as the #16 SF in the country. He was an
above average player across the board and has a great work ethic that gives us
high hopes that he will be able to develop into a top line player for us going
forward through his career. The concern
is that his athleticism and speed aren’t as high as you would normally hope for
in a top D1 player, but the hope is that he is able to make up for it in other
areas of his game (i.e. defensive and offensive raw ability).
It is likely that going into next season, what will be his official
FR year, he’ll likely be seeing all of his minutes as a 2nd or 3rd
SF/SG. In a perfect world his already
pretty high passing rating (59) would jump to 80+ as he continues to grow and
develop and Earl could see time as a type of point-forward or someone that
could facilitate the offense and be the driving force behind what makes the
team go.
As you can see from his ratings history, he still has a lot
of room to grow in a few key areas so he will for sure be worth keeping an eye
on as his career progresses.
