Returning Player Profile Series - Kenneth Brown

Returning Player Profile Series

SG Kenneth Brown (JR)

Arrived at Arizona State as the 41st ranked SG in his high school class and was given the redshirt his first year on campus.  Was a kid who had a lot of potential that could use the extra year of practice and improvement to really get a grasp on being a big time D1 player.

As you can see, he really took off and by the time he was eligible to play in his first game as a redshirt freshman he was up almost 100 total rating points. He logged a total of 12.7 minutes per game (in 30 total games) that season as he tried to find his role on the squad.  His final #s were 3.7 pts, 1.1 assists, and 1.0 rebounds per game.
Coming into this past season, his sophomore campaign, had him in a premiere position to take the starting role on a team poised to make the school’s first run to the National Tournament in almost 30 seasons.  With his exceptionally high athleticism and defensive skills, he was going to be an asset on the defensive end of the floor so whatever his 80+ perimeter skill could deliver on the offensive side would just be a bonus.

He did a masterful job for us all season as he started all 32 games, playing a total of 26.1 minutes per game and averaging 8.1 pts, 2.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He finished as the 3rd leading scorer on the team (behind 2 seniors, Dam and Clemens).
Look for Kenneth to be the key player next season as his experience and skills will be relied on by an extremely young team.
